Afford Today is a financial literacy learning program of The Foundation for American Service. The affordtoday.com domain was donated to FAS and is used to connect people to FAS’s free financial literacy courses and budgeting tools. Afford Today courses and tools are free. Afford Today does not sell products or services and does not generate income for FAS or any other organization.

Educational content only

FAS courses, tools and resources are for general educational purposes. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Examples and calculator results are hypothetical and do not predict or guarantee results. Consider speaking with a qualified professional about your situation.

Hardship assistance

Assistance is limited and depends on eligibility, documentation, review and available funds. Submitting an application does not guarantee an award. Completing courses or earning a certificate is a requirement to apply, not a guarantee of assistance.

Government and veterans’ agencies

FAS is an independent nonprofit. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, any state veterans department, or any other government agency. FAS is not VA-accredited and does not prepare, present or file VA claims.

State Employees, Inc.

FAS and State Employees, Inc. (SEI) are separate organizations. FAS is responsible for its own programs and decides all applications for FAS assistance.

The Foundation for American Service is a 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the IRS (EIN 41-3347272). Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor.
