FAS works with public agencies, foundations, employers, financial institutions and community partners to expand financial capability, workforce stability and targeted supportive services for the people who keep our communities running.

Need
Many working households in public-service and essential jobs are one unexpected expense away from missed work, debt or housing instability.
Intervention
Financial capability education first, then resource navigation, then targeted, documented hardship assistance for eligible applicants.
Population
Veterans, military families, first responders, healthcare workers, educators, public-service employees, essential workers and financially vulnerable working households.
Geography
FAS is headquartered in Wisconsin. Free online courses and financial tools are available nationwide. Hardship assistance is available to eligible applicants in approved service areas, subject to program requirements and available funds.
Outputs to be reported
Participants enrolled, courses completed, certificates earned, applications reviewed, awards issued.
Outcome measurement
Pre- and post-course confidence ratings and scored knowledge quizzes in each course.
